About First United Methodist Church
First United Methodist Church, founded as the first church in Colorado Springs in 1871, is now one of the city's largest and most active congregations. Our teaching, preaching and practice are centered in knowing and following Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord, helping all persons to grow into his likeness.
The Mission of the First United Methodist Church supports our vision of creating a vital, Biblically-based, Christ-like community. Spiritual health and vitality come to life when we love God and our neighbor. Love is best expressed when we are committed to these characteristics and values: quality, integrity, growth, variety and passion. Our ministries present the Gospel of Christ and are intentionally and prayerfully designed to help people of all ages grow and mature in faith and to serve the needs of the community and the world.
